An ancient Chinese herb, Astragalus is included in the Fu Zheng herbs. These are
considered by Chinese herbalists to be the most powerful herbs for all round
strength, health and longevity. It is known for its enhancement of the immune
system defense mechanism and for increasing bone marrow production of immune
cells, allowing for an increase in sustained immune response. Research has been
done on those with herpes simplex, viral myocarditis and other immune related
conditions.
